Day 1 - Grounding

Welcome to Grootbos, a green jewel embedded in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom. You will be welcomed at Forest Lodge in the early afternoon to settle into your luxury room, before meeting with your fellow guests to join an exclusive masterclass by Executives from the Lodge and Grootbos Foundation. Here, you will learn about the inspiring vision for this conservation project and gain appreciation for their shared-value approach.

We then depart for our first immersion into the local ecosystem, before returning to enjoy a farm-to-table dinner prepared by the regions’ top chefs, and share our reflections on the day.

Day 2 - Reflection & identification

The morning dawns bright and early amongst a tapestry of strikingly beautiful fynbos to kickstart a day focused on inner connection and reflection.

Journey through time in nature, mindful exercises and facilitated workshop sessions throughout your day, enjoying the benefit of dedicating time to understand and acknowledge some of your ‘coding’. Through it, you will begin to shape a view of the self identity that influences how you interpret and venture into the outer world.

The day will leave you feeling connected to self and intrigued about your new discovery.

Day 3 - Identification & connection

Today, we expand our inner work with an enriching outer journey. In the morning we embark on a Land Cruiser safari to visit the Grootbos farm, where much of the fresh produce at the lodge is cultivated, and learn about some of the regenerative practices and social initiatives that demonstrate the local focus on sustainability.

After a hearty breakfast, we return to the lodge for a sequence of discussions, before exploring the local town for a community experience that exemplifies the interconnected conservation, culture, community and commerce (which form the 4 C’s of The Long Run initiative, of which Grootbos is a founding member).

Return for a surprising evening experience to top of a bucket-list day, before nestling into your luxury suite for a good rest.

Day 4 - Bridging and direction

Today we join the dots between your inner learning and your outer journey, to form a connected vision of how your newfound clarity influences your professional pursuits.

Start the day in quietude, soaking up the elements, before indulging in a healthy breakfast to kick start our last working session.

By lunch, you will have finalised your commitments to continue your transformational work, privately and professionally, before closing out the retreat with your colleagues, and new friends.
